7 Stops on N7

The 7 Stops on the N7 is a self drive route that was launched on the 7th of December 2016 and includes the towns of Piketberg, Citrusdal, Clanwilliam, Wupperthal, Vanrhynsdorp, Nieuwoudtville and Garies on the Cape to Namibia road.

The 7 categories consist of Accomodation, Restaurants and Coffee Shops, Activities, Historical, Agricultural, Routes(4×4,MBT,Walking) and Fauna & Flora.

Piketberg

This is our first stop, rich in history and culture. With the Historical walking Route you can explore the town and the many buildings still standing. For the more adventurous, Piket-bo-berg offers mountain biking and horse riding.

Citrusdal

In the valley nestled under the Elephant Mountains you will find a busy town surrounded by citrus orchards. Fill your afternoons with a tea tasting followed by a wine and food pairing. Routes carefully planned out on our mountains for hiking, running or mountain biking. Get your adrenaline pumping with Paintball and Zipline. Clanwilliam

Being the only region in the world where Rooibos tea can grow, one can assume Clanwilliam will be the Mega town of Rooibos. With routes, tasting rooms and a tea house, Clanwilliam will definitely get your Rooibos experience going. From handmade shoes to your annual flower show, you will not be disappointed.

Wupperthal

Get one with nature and gravel on your way to this beautiful missionary village surrounded by the northen parts of Cederberg. Park your car and explore by foot, meet and greet the town’s people walking past. Smell the glue in the shoe factory and the rooibos in the cosmetics shop. When school is out, you will see most children running and playing around at the big hostels. By now you will need a refreshment – Local is lekker – get something from the small grocery store.

Vanrhynsdorp

With interesting history this quaint town is the flower hub in season. Follow 4×4 routes and explore remote areas on this ‘of the beaten track’. Take the experience home by buying some succulents in the famous Knersvlakte nursery.

Nieuwoudtville

With both our Ommi Hooki and Uitkyk sites, each comes equipped with convenient power points, ensuring you stay connected while disconnecting from city life.

Garies

As this is our last stop, you are now entering the Namaqualand region filled with wild flowers and lost gems. Rich in history dating back to 1901, when British soldiers carved their names out on ‘Letterklip’. Walking routes, donkey cart rides and friendly faces is what awaits you in this picturesque little town.
